In DT over the Autumn term we are looking at moving pictures. Today we looked at a range of moving picture books. We then looked at sliders and had a go at making our own moving pictures that use a slider. The pictures were all amazing and I was so impressed!

Reading Books
Today your child has got their book plastic and a new reading book. Please encourage your child to read every day, even if it is just a couple of pages. We ask parents to record any reading on the go read app so we know what page your child has got to / if the book needs changing. If you have forgotten your login details please let me know.
In the mornings, there will be two green boxes outside the classroom. One for books that need changing and one for books that don’t need changing. We ask for children to try and read each book a couple of times before putting in the changing box.

First day back
We had a brilliant first day back! We played some games to get to know each other and explored the different areas in our classroom and outside area. The children enjoyed their first break time on the playground and all settled in really well!
Welcome to Aquila Class!
Welcome to Year 1 Aquila class. I will be teaching the class on Monday – Thursday and on a Friday the class will have a combination of Ms Thomas and Miss Rand (Year 1 teacher).
Miss Wykes and Mrs Aitken will be our learning support assistants and will be with the class every day.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday. Please can your children come into school already in their PE kits.
We will be using our outside area most days and the mud area is always very popular so please make sure your child has a pair of wellies that fit.
I am looking forward to a super year and we have lots of fun activities planned.
